Africa Twin Trip meters are either ultra reliable or prone to faults and very expensive to replace.
A damaged or faulty unit can easily be replaced with the ACE-3100AT or ACE-3250AT.
  • Remove the front fairing and broken trip meter
  • Mount the ACEWELL onto the trip meter bracket - a couple of 6mm holes need to be drilled for the M5 threaded mounting bolts to pass through
  • Plug the ACEWELL into the left hand black 6 pin socket - where the trip meter was originally connected
NOTE - only power is obtained from this connector, not the 0.6v speed signal pulses
  • Disconnect the speedo cable from the Africa Twin speedometer, screw the ACEWELL S2 speed pickup onto the end of the cable then screw both into the speedometer and plug the other end of the S2 into the ACEWELL.
  • Run the yellow wire down to a spark plug lead, and wrap 4 coil turns around it.
  • Switch on the bike ignition, and the speedo should light up.
  • Follow the instructions included with the ACEWELL to calibrate the unit.
  • To set up the C screen in configuration
    • mark a chalk mark on the tyre at the base, and onto the ground.
    • Push the bike forward one revolution of the front wheel until the chalk mark touches the ground again.
    • Measure the distance travelled by the bike and divide this number by 3
(the number of turns of the speedo cable for 1 turn of the front wheel).
    • Programme this number into the ACEWELL on the C screen.
